Chinese researchers have teleported a photon from the Gobi desert to a satellite orbiting five hundred kilometres above the earth. This is achieved through quantum entanglement, a process where two particles react as one with no physical connection between them.
MINDBLOWN.
it was only last year that we did a relatively small distance and now we are talking ten times that distance and not only that into space which comes with another set of challenges. having just recently watched the matrix and remembered the scene where mr smith injects himself, nano probe level like to make a duplicate of himself i think we would need some kind of conversion tool to take our DNA make up and transform to photon level but then how do you copy the soul, is copying someone sector by sector enough to copy their soul or would they just turn up as a meat sack - matter, antimatter, does it matter? kinda incredible for now anyway that we might be able to use this for quantum internet.
imagine a planet bathed in quantum connectivity, connected everywhere by everything, but then also worry about if that got into the wrong hands, uncrackable encryption, the pursuit of should technology must be like another arms race all together! :)
thoughts? teleporters before breakfast?! datum.
