This show is the show I've been looking for all my life. I've endured duds of television shows, been let down by plot that slowly tapers to a standstill, been befuddled by character arcs that made no sense (Longmire, here's lookin' at you). But this one, Fargo, never lets me down.
While the first season has some similarities to the 1996 movie, the only things that carry over from the film throughout the entire series is the frigid scenery and the black comedy. The series is told in an anthology format, with no two seasons sharing a plot, and very few overlapping characters. What remains the same is a continual theme of the true gritty, violent nature of the world being unveiled to innocent eyes.
And each season is replete with a marvelous cast. Whether good or evil, not a single character falls flat. Each performance is a marvelous aspect of an all around outstanding show.
With compelling villains, a killer soundtrack, encompassing suspense, and a uniquely dark sense of humor, this may be the best show I have ever seen, and I am basically a walking, talking billboard for this show, begging everyone to watch it.
But be careful with binge watching this series; I must warn you that after slurping up the first two seasons in a very short amount of time, the two of us could not stop talking with that silly Northern accent, oh jeeze.
