I came home very late last night and was met along the path to my front door by this beautiful flower. The moonlight cactus only flowers once a year and the flowers only open at night for one night. I had noticed that a broken piece of this succulent cactus had fallen down amongst some other plants and started to grow, but I was not expecting it to flower so soon, because they only bloom at night and only for one night. It is be easy to miss the blooms, only noticing a wilted closed flower the next morning. After seeing this bloom last night I quickly grabbed my iPad to photograph it and I noticed several other finished blooms, which I missed sadly. Hope you all like it.
