Tesla has given confirmation that their computing platform was compromised by hackers but have assured the public that they reacted to the breacjhwithin hours and it is believed that no customer data or details have been stolen.
RedLock, was the company to highlight the breach to Tesla and suggests that the attackers main aim was to mine crypto-currency - otherwise known as crypto-jacking.
A spokeswoman from Tesla stated "Our initial investigation found no indication that customer privacy or vehicle safety or security was compromised in any way,".
Shockingly it is claimed by RedLock that Tesla's log-in identifications were kept "on a system that was not password-protected".
This is particularly alarming especially for a company as large as Tesla and a in a world when cyber crime is at it's ripest it somewhat defy imagination as to why more security implementations were not in place.
