here is Annalena Baerbock: "The electricity comes from the socket!"
if you understand German, check it out here:
Annalena Baerbock: "Der Strom kommt aus der Steckdose!"
good for a laugh or two - she was the candidate for chancellor back then, now she is foreign minister in the new government.

My search then led to this blog from April 3rd 2022
Fun Fact: "''A single Tesla battery weighing 1,000 pounds requires extracting and processing some 500,000 pounds of materials."
Quote:
A single Tesla battery weighing 1,000 pounds requires extracting and processing some 500,000 pounds of materials. At this rate, over the next thirty years we will need to mine more mineral ores than humans have extracted over the last 70,000 years.
I thought this needed to be searched some more and I googled. I spare you the results from the various forums and social media comments, but if you are interested you could just copy and paste the quote into a Google search. Suffice it to say the only sensible find was the blog spot above.
By now we have been inundated with how wonderful electric cars are - or maybe this one here: How Tesla's New Battery Will Destroy Gas Cars, and maybe you need to check the source directly from Tesla A Bit About Batteries, but the downsides are swept under the rug. Here is a article from last year that should give pause to think:
or check this one out, from 2016:
Tesla Model S battery bursts into flames, car “totally destroyed” in 5 minutes
Now that Elon Musk has purchased a significant chunk of Twitter shares (and I am connected to him on Twitter) I better stay under the radar with this on there, lest he blocks me (though he complained about censorship on Twitter himself before).
Still from last year (from my archives) one of my favorites, Russel Brand talks about this:
Big Tech are pushing self-driving cars in the name of safety. But as well as the displacement of millions of jobs, what are the other dangers that could accompany the rise of the robot worker?
