In this post I would like to tell you the story about how Steemit has changed my life and the life of my closest person - my mum. Nobody knows this story except some of my Steemit friends because we kept it in a secret for a long time. I live in Ukraine, there is a war in our country, the country has very big economical problems and the level of medicine is very low here too. One day my mom went to the hospital to seal a tooth but the dentist infected her with hepatitis C. She did not know about it at first until her liver was in a very bad state. We were in shock when we found out about hepatitis. Hepatitis C is a big problem in Ukraine and people mostly get it while visiting dentists. It is terrible but it is impossible to prove something and to punish those dentists and that is why this disease spreads with a huge speed in our country. We went to the doctor and he did not give us any hope but told to buy medicines which cost too much. We have very low salaries in Ukraine - about 200 dollars per month and to buy medicines against hepatitis people have to sell their homes and apartments and to stay homeless. My mom was in shock when she knew the price of the medicine - she is a pensioner now and does not have such money. But thanks to Steemit I had an opportunity to buy medicines for 6 month-course of treatment and when the price of SBD got higher, we had an opportunity to go to the capital of our country Kiev to consult a better doctor.
I can`t tell it is always easy for me on Steemit especially now when there are so many new Steemians on the platform. My posts get very often lost among a plenty of posts from others. I even felt despair and wanted to give up blogging sometimes and in such tough times I was always supported by my Steemit friends who told me to continue blogging. I am very happy I did not give up and I will never forget that Steemit saved the life of my closest person - my mum.
