Hello, friends!
I will tell you about the picturesque districts of St. Petersburg, which is unlikely to wander random tourists. This neighborhood is located near the metro station "Elizarovskaya", on the edge of the city.
The name of this neighborhood, "Palevsky zhilmassiv" (Palevsky from the name of a textile spinning mill firing, which was near there), and was built in the years 1925-1926 for workers of a textile factory under the project of A. I. Zazersky and N. F. Rybin.
Some of the houses are two — storey. They consist of blocks (two-three or four), for four apartments each. Each pair of doors of the apartments open directly onto the street. The apartments had stove heating, they did not have bathrooms. Such buildings are typical for Scandinavia and Britain (so-called terrace house or townhouse in the United States, or Reihenhaus in Germany).
Thus, people with a small income could get their own house in a dense urban development.
And this is what it looked like in the 1930s
The architectural techniques of the architects of this area are very diverse. There are no two identical buildings. But the houses are perceived as a single ensemble due to the repeating details: triangular gable roofs, high arched arches framing the Windows and doors of the building.
The houses are grouped around five green courtyards planted with fruit trees and Jasmine bushes. So the project embodied the idea of"garden- city".
Now the neighborhood looks like the courtyards of a small European town.
The next courtyard is visible through the bars of the arches.
Transitions with arches are often found here.
Each apartment has a separate exit. It's unusual for my city.
It is very quiet and peaceful.
The canopy of the plants
Lots of greenery and bushes.
All houses are slightly different, although they all share common parts and arches.
19 houses are included in the list of objects of historical, scientific, artistic or other cultural value.
Cheers
