If you are going to visit Pattaya, you have to see Naklua. This old fisher town is far away from the overcrowded center. Taxi stands are around every corner, so the Beach Road with it's stunning night life is just 10 minutes away. Naklua is mostly visited by Russian Tourists, so the street vendors usually speak basic Russian and almost all the signs are in Cyrillic script. Unfortunately we don't speak Russian, so at first we had some problems to communicate with the Thai people there, but you'll be just fine with English too. Accommodations can be found in all price ranges. If you're there on an smaller budget, go with an condominium instead of one of the beachfront resorts. If it has to be beachfront for you, be well prepared to open up your pockets a bit more than usually in Thailand.
