One of my favorite things in college was the fact that no matter where you went to school in the States there was going to be a New York slice operation that sold pizza for near nothing that you probably wouldn't eat at any other time of day. For me, the place was called Alfredos and I don't know anyone that ever ate there before midnight.
I was delighted to find out that Chiang Mai has such an operation that sells slices for about $2 and of course, they are right in the center of a major nightlife location in the city.

I did not take this photo, i am certain it was staged for lighting purposes
The place is called New York Pizza, and while it definitely is NOT a NYC slice, it gets the job done when you are 12 lagers deep and just need a little pick me up.
It is located in the middle of the very popular-with-tourists nightlife area called "Zoe in Yellow" and to be honest if you were just passing through this city and went out for drinks you would probably end up in this part of town anyway.
The lady has a bunch of different styles of pizza already cooked and she heats them up for you on the spot, just like they do in every other pizza-by-the slice place.
I wouldn't say that it is a delicacy and for the most part I don't even remember what it tasted like (it was a big night last night) but this spot is a very welcome addition to the fun and wildly popular "Zoe" area which is surprisingly devoid of places to eat. It is just one more reason to seek it out if you are visiting the area. Oh, there is a cheap taco stand nearby as well, but i didn't try that... maybe next week.
