We bought the trip as a package from a travel agency in Poland called Rainbow. The total price was £2,200, the following items were included:
Direct flights from Warsaw to Bangkok and back (10 hours)
Transport from Bangkok airport to Koh Chang and back with an overnight stop in Pattaya on the way back
6 nights in Awa Resort on Koh Chang, 1 night in Cholchan hotel in Pattaya
7x breakfast
The private transportation to Koh Chang took about 5 hours from the airport, including the ferry ride to the island.
We were mostly happy with the resort we stayed in on Koh Chang. It was on Kai Bae beach, the rooms were spacious and it had it's own private beach.
Koh Chang is one of the largest Thai islands. The inland contains a dense jungle with lots of great waterfalls. The coast is covered by beautiful beaches. There are some party places (White sand beach) but also quiet ones (Long beach) so everyone will find one fit to their liking.
The week we spent there was actually our honeymoon and we had an amazing time. The weather was a bit colder than usual (around 25 degrees C) but we still found a lot of fun things to do every day.
We hang out on the beach with or without a cocktail in hand
We rented a motorbike to drive around and to see the biggest waterfall on the island. They charge 200 baht entry fee there but we thought it was worth it. You can even take a swim in the waterfall.
We went on a snorkeling trip, the cost was 500 baht per person, plus a 200 baht entry fee to the Naional Park. The trip started at 9am, we got back at 5pm. The boat stopped for snorkeling at 4 different places and we had lunch and snacks on the boat (included)
It was a bit windy on the boat.
We watched the sunset from the beach in the evenings and had a cocktail at one of the beach bars. Our favorite was Beach Tango bar on White Sand Beach. http://beachtangorestaurantkohchang.business.site/
It's low tide at night and you can have a romantic walk quite far out into the sea in the semi-darkness
We rode the motorbike to the viewpoint on the top of the hill near Lonely beach. Be carefull, especially if you go that way after dark, as the roads are very windy on the way there.
We went diving one day with https://changdiving.com/
We have our Open Water Certs so we did 2 fun dives with them, total cost 2700 baht per person (transport, equipment, 2 dives with dive master, lunch, coffee included)
We got a thai massage on the beach for 250 baht. So worth it, a massage like that can stretch you out in ways you never thought possible. We had the massage at our hotel's beach, but you can get one all over the island for the same price.
All in all, Koh Chang is a great place for a holiday if you just want to relax on beautiful beaches but there is a lot to discover on the island if you like to be more active. We like both so we did a combination of the two :)
