Un Día para Dar Gracias
Desde muy temprano hoy en la mañana mí amada esposa preparo la mesa con esos platos que tenemos desde hace muchos años, y desde que estamos casado celebramos acción de gracias.
En Venezuela, las tradiciones suelen mezclarse y adaptarse a nuestra cultura. En los últimos años, hemos visto cómo celebraciones como Halloween han ganado popularidad, con niños disfrazándose y pidiendo dulces. Si bien es divertido participar en estas costumbres, creo que es importante recordar nuestras raíces y cultivar valores como la gratitud.
Mientras muchos de mis amigos se entusiasman con la idea de disfrazarse y festejar, mi esposa y yo hemos decidido celebrar el Día de Acción de Gracias. Sé que esta festividad no es tradicional en nuestro país, pero para nosotros representa una oportunidad para reflexionar sobre todo lo bueno que tenemos en nuestras vidas.
A menudo nos dejamos llevar por el ritmo acelerado de la vida cotidiana y olvidamos agradecer por las pequeñas cosas que nos hacen felices. Celebrar Acción de Gracias nos permite detenernos un momento y reconocer las bendiciones que hemos recibido. Es como un abrazo al alma, una forma de conectar con lo que realmente importa.
Sé que algunos pueden pensar que es extraño celebrar una festividad que no es nuestra, pero creo que la gratitud es un lenguaje universal. Al fin y al cabo, todos tenemos algo por lo que estar agradecidos.
Aquí en Venezuela no existe la costumbre de celebrar el día de acción de gracias, algo tan hermoso como lo es agradecer, sin embargo, la vanidad de muchos venezolanos si celebran el Halloween, no estoy en contra de eso, pero sinceramente pienso que es más importante agradecer que disfrazarme de algo que no soy. Nota, es mi opinión para conmigo, no es que critico eso, total en cada familia pueden hacer lo que quieran con sus costumbres, yo elijo dar gracias
Justo hoy un amigo me respondió esto en un comentario la siguiente frase.
Esas palabras me hacen reflexionar sobre algo que mi esposa y yo practicamos todos los días y es que en realidad, sin darme cuenta, también afirmo que todos los días son de acción de gracias.
En un mundo cada vez más individualista y materialista, celebrar Acción de Gracias nos recuerda que somos parte de algo más grande y que debemos valorar las relaciones que hemos construido. Es una oportunidad para fortalecer nuestros lazos familiares y amistades.
Espero que cada vez más venezolanos se unan a esta celebración y descubran el verdadero significado de la gratitud. Después de todo, la mejor manera de vivir la vida es que estemos conscientes de las cosas buenas que tenemos y expresando nuestro agradecimiento por ellas.
A Day of Giving Thanks
From very early this morning, my beloved wife set the table with those dishes that we have had for many years, and since we got married, we celebrate Thanksgiving.
In Venezuela, traditions tend to mix and adapt to our culture. In recent years, we have seen how celebrations like Halloween have gained popularity, with children dressing up and asking for candy. While it is fun to participate in these customs, I believe it is important to remember our roots and cultivate values such as gratitude.
While many of my friends are excited about the idea of dressing up and celebrating, my wife and I have decided to celebrate Thanksgiving. I know that this holiday is not traditional in our country, but for us, it represents an opportunity to reflect on all the good things we have in our lives.
We often get caught up in the fast pace of everyday life and forget to be thankful for the little things that make us happy. Celebrating Thanksgiving allows us to pause for a moment and acknowledge the blessings we have received. It is like a hug to the soul, a way to connect with what truly matters.
I know some may think it is strange to celebrate a holiday that is not ours, but I believe gratitude is a universal language. After all, we all have something to be thankful for.
Here in Venezuela, there is no tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving Day, something as beautiful as giving thanks, however, many Venezuelans do celebrate Halloween, I am not against that, but I honestly think it is more important to give thanks than to dress up as something I am not. Note, this is my opinion for myself, I am not criticizing that, as each family can do what they want with their customs, I choose to give thanks.
Just today, a friend replied to me with the following sentence in a comment.
Everyday is Thanksgiving, really!

These words make me reflect on something that my wife and I practice every day, and that is, without realizing it, I also affirm that every day is Thanksgiving.
In an increasingly individualistic and materialistic world, celebrating Thanksgiving reminds us that we are part of something greater and that we should value the relationships we have built. It is an opportunity to strengthen our family and friendship bonds.
I hope that more Venezuelans will join this celebration and discover the true meaning of gratitude. After all, the best way to live life is to be aware of the good things we have and express our gratitude for them.
