Adaora stood at the door of her home looking down the street. She rubbed her left hand on her face as she waited. Her thoughts wandered from the life she had lived while growing up to the present day. Now she shared her home with her husband, her mother in-law Ozioma, her brother in-law and his wife, Chioma. Thought it seemed like a strange mixture of people all living together in one house but it was for the best for all of them.
Ozioma and her husband And, with their two sons innocent and obinna were Anamite who had moved to patigi many years ago because of the continual community clash in sharagi. Being an Anamite in patigi was not an easy life but they had adapted well and both sons had married patigi woman. Then Ani had died leaving ozioma alone.
Adaora loved her mother in-law and she knew chioma did too. Life wasn't easy in patigi even for Moabites. As Adaora gazed out the door two short women, ozioma and chioma came into view from the market and adaora ran to help them carry their load.
"What did you find today at the market ? Were there good sales? "she asked trying to look in the basket the two women carried.
"just wait till we get them set down, ozioma said and smiled at her beautiful daughter in-law. I can see why God did not bless us with children in this Family with two little girls as daughter in-law. " she smiled lovingly at her two girls as they hugged each other and laugh.
You are right about that, adaora joked, who needs children when you have us. She grabbed ozioma and dance with her around the little table in the center of the room. When they stopped they were tired but happy to be together.
