📣Ugly Sweater Christmas Gift Exchange🎄

While people get their #bestmealever posts ready for the Gobble Gobble Giggidy Gump challenge, some of the fam are also going to be putting on their thinking caps for some kind of gift in the White Elephant (Ugly Sweater) Christmas gift exchange. You may ask what exactly is that? To quote ourselves from earlier this week:

You may or may not be keen on what The Alliance has done the past few years, and if you aren't that's ok, we will still love you and wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Splendid Kwanza, Killer Krampus or however you decide to (if at all) spend the latter part of the year.

This year, in honor of our 'Ugly Sweater Christmas', we have decided to go with a 'White Elephant' theme. It's still called 'Ugly Sweater', but, you know. It's a colorless animal. Normally, the 'Dirty Santa' gifting is at a party and you are allowed to do one of two things; grab a present from the ones available or steal one from someone else. Once all the gifts are handed out, the first person that chose a gift gets one final swap of anyone else's. Since we are not going to be in close proximity, our rules will be different.

RULES

1. Sign up in the comments below.
2. Attend our weekly 'Family Time' on 11/25 in the Castle.
3. Participate in the second leg of our fun.

The first leg of this year's Ugly Sweater Christmas, is to sign your happy ass up down there in the comments. You have until we start Family Time next week to get your name on the list. The second leg, will be really fun. All those that show up, will start the swapping. It will go in order of whoever shows up and has signed up. If you sign up and do not attend, you will be assigned someone at random.

So, let's say I am the first one to the 'Dinner Table' (family time) and Hive account@snook comes in next. I would grab a name from the hat, let's say it's Hive account@wwwiebe. She would have the option to either take my gift (name for the exchange) or grab one from the hat. Let's say she opts to grab one from the hat and it's Hive account@brisby. Then Hive account@saffisara shows up and she gets to either 'steal' one of our names, or put her hand in the hat (the hat consists of the sign-ups below in the comments on this post). Then, Hive account@silverd510 shows up. He can grab any of the names already chosen, or again, reach in the hat. If your name was stolen, you would then have to pick a new one from the hat. The final swap, would come from the first person that entered the voice channel. Making sense?

The Gifts

To maintain the integrity of what a white elephant gift is, we are going to limit them to a $25 USD dollar purchase. They can be gag gifts or something personal, the choice is yours and will be dependent upon the name you choose or - end up getting stuck with. 🤣 Are you having fun yet?
