Last March, I was at the József Attila Theater and watched the musical version of Cat Catcher. The Cat Catcher cartoon was one of my childhood favorites and still is. I would watch again anytime and now that’s the case with music as well. This must be seen, heard and felt. The whole atmosphere of the piece is captivating. Super music and choreographies with very good lyrics. I was a little afraid that it would be very reworked and there would be nothing left of the old well-used jokes, but luckily it didn’t. They also took over almost everything and added new humorous lyrics that fit the cartoonists. There aren’t many songs in the cartoon, so I was primarily curious about what the music would look like. For some reason, none of the original songs were included, but the new ones completely make up for it. The cast is flawless. I can’t even specifically highlight a favorite character because everyone was good. I am the same with the songs, I liked them all.
I didn’t think there would be anyone in the audience who didn’t see the cartoon, but there were two of those sitting around me. I think this musical version is more for adults than kids, but as I saw, they also enjoyed it. Anyone who can do it will see if the Theaters can finally reopen.
