How was the musical Rebecca:
Great, for me it was worth coming in Vienna and seeing. The music is my favorite. Szilveszter Lévay created something big with this. I also like Elisabeth and Mozart musicals, but I like this one the best of the three. A mysterious, sometimes scary, suspenseful, romantic musical thriller. Simple, yet spectacular, dynamic dance scenes between the individual events, with excellent actors. The scenery and costumes were very good. The flaming staircase at the end of the performance was also spectacular. I talked to a local person who told me that part of the scenery is from the Stuttgart performance, and that the version we see now is an updated version and not the original Vienna one. At the bottom of the paper of the daily cast I found a Hungarian name. The conductor that day was Péter Bíró, who participated in several performances in Operetta theater in Budapest, Hungary. The entire cast, including supporting actors and dancers, does their work at a high level. I had already heard some of the actors on different YouTube videos, so I thought I wouldn't be too disappointed, but this was much better live than I expected. My favorites, whose names I had already seen in other musicals, were Ana Milva Gomez, who played Mrs. Van Hopper, and Annemieke Van Dam, who played Mrs. Danvers. In addition to having a very good voice, they play excellently. Of the two main characters, I first met Nienke Latten's name at this musical. She has a strong soprano voice, is energetic and was able to express very well during the play how she changes from a shy girl with a child's soul to a confident woman supporting her husband. A young, talented actress. I hope I will have the opportunity to see it in another performance. The name of the male character, Mark Seibert, was not unknown, because he played the role of Death in my other favorite musical, Elisabeth. He has an excellent singing voice. During his performance, he expressed the mood and feelings of his character well with both his voice and his movements. In a duet with Nienke, their voices sounded very good together. I am glad to have seen this musical live in Vienna. It was a special experience.
