Trip from Budapest to Vienna to the Raimund Theater:
The best way to travel by train is if you buy the ticket a month in advance, because then Budapest-Vienna can be traveled for HUF 10,400 round trip/person. As the travel date approaches, the tickets become more and more expensive. There is a train to Vienna every hour from Budapest-Keleti railway station. The journey time is 2 hours 40 minutes. If you go to an evening performance by public transport, please note that the performance ends a little after ten in the evening, but the last train leaves at 9.40 pm. So you miss the last train, but on some days the last Flixbus to Budapest departs from the main station at 23.45. Austrian trains may also experience delays. It doesn't matter whether it's ÖBB or MÁV, problems can occur with both. Better go out on an earlier train. From the main station, the theater is approx. 45 minuteson foot, or 20 minutes with tram number 18. The price of a tram ticket there and back is €4.80.
Those who go by car should take into account that parking is paid from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking is allowed for 2 hours. For them, I recommend the parking garage as a convenient solution, APCOA Parkgarage Mariahilfer Platz (address: Mariahilferstraße 123, 1060 Wien) is a maximum 10-minute walk from the theater and at the theater ticket office you can request the so-called KULTUR-RABATT-Nachsteckkarte, which gives you a discount when paying for parking.
