taught us a little bit about planting strawberries in the quail run. I love this sort of start-to-finish project post where you come out of it with something better than when you started. At least from your perspective, it looks like the quails are disappointed they don't get strawberries.
wrote extensively about historical communication in Africa. While a lot of the methodologies are the same worldwide, it's nice to see some of the subtle differences from a continent I've never visited.

came back from holiday with two gorgeous photo posts: the Caves of Hotton in Belgium and the Euromast in Rotterdam.

wrote a long post about zombies and the metaphorical representations of death in many art forms, including one of his own paintings.
shared a great Australian news story about an involuntary street art collaboration which looks like it turned out well for everybody, including the wombat. One of the challenges for any artist is dealing with the fact that once you let your art out into the world it isn't wholly yours anymore. This just happens to be a particularly funny example of that.
