This thread has spoilers up to the end of book two, chapter twelve. Do not post spoilers post that point.
This Week's Prompt for Discussion
Q: What was your favorite scene from last week’s reading? Why did you enjoy it so much?
What to Read for Next Week
Next week’s discussion will extend to the end of Book Two.
Editor’s Note
Hey Page Dwellers!
Our read through of A Tale of Two Cities continues to mosey on forward. We’ve got about ten people following along in some form or another.
continues to supply us with great commentary on the book, if you haven’t seen his comment on last week’s post I highly advise that you give it a read.
This is a good opportunity to comment on the status of the club… Winston’s post earned no upvotes, which I am ashamed to say, as it does not reflect well on the club. We should be rewarding good content like that. I take personal responsibility for letting this happen.
Whenever a Steemian contributes good content to The Page Dwellers, they should receive ample compensation in the form of Steem. I want to make sure this happens.
Here’s the plan for this week: I am offering two 10 SBD rewards this week for the best comments or original threads relating to A Tale of Two Cities and/or The Page Dwellers in general. If you want to make your own thread to share your thoughts on the book this week, just tag it with “thepagedwellers” as the first tag.
Blogging about the book we are reading, rather than commenting on this weekly thread, may be a better system. It will allow for more dynamic conversations and fresh topics as the week goes on.
If you want to make a new thread to discuss the book, start the title as [The Page Dwellers] to make them recognizable.
Lastly, I’d like to point out that if you fell behind on the book or feel confused… you can always catch up in 10 mins by reading some Sparksnotes :-) —> http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/twocities/ — just read summaries up through book two, chapter 12 and you are ready for this week.
This club is brand new, and we’re learning how to make it awesome. Thank you for your patience and continued participation!
A Note About Scheduling
We are a little behind on the month’s schedule… it’s OK. Lets finish this book first and then we can plan for the next one afterwards, so we’ll probably finish this book on September 10th.
Other Notes
Here’s the best audiobook version of the book. If anybody cannot afford it, I will buy a copy for you! Send me a message on Steemit.chat. I can do this for probably two people this week. https://www.audible.com/pd/Classics/A-Tale-of-Two-Cities-Tantor-Audiobook/B002V08IYW
