The Titan Games
I alluded in my last Training Post that I was somewhat struggling to get the training chutzpah back. The cancellation of the AWNE comps for both early Feb and early March meant that I couldn't train specifically for those events... but I was also out of cash to then compete in any of the other comps around.
The National Ninja League ran it's finals over the weekend in Georgia, USA which I would have loved to go to... A few Aussie flew in from Perth to compete, and it would have been amazing to see them (we were all going to meet up at the San Diego comp - which was cancelled)... but, oh well.
So... my current event to train towards is:
UNAA Regional Qualifier - 5th May - Camp Rhino, Boise, Idaho.
I'm excited by this because it's going to be super tough... and I need the next few months of solid training to get up to anywhere near the level I'll need.... but, on the other hand... it's super easy to leave exercises or diets for tomorrow when you've still got 2 months to go.
It's annoying... I wish I was more disciplined, but discipline is exhausting (obviously).
So... introducing:
The US is going nuts with these shows... they already have:
- American Ninja Warrior - NBC
- ANW - Ninja vs Ninja - USA
- NBC Spartan - NBC
- Grit - FOX
- Strong - NBC
- American Tarzan - Discovery
- Ultimate Beast Master - Netflix
These are just the ones I've watched, I'm sure there are heaps I don't know about.
What is the Titan Games
What is the Titan Games Actually?
You're right... that video told us nothing...
In each episode, competitors from across America will step inside an arena and put themselves to the ultimate test by facing one of six reigning Titans. If a contender can defeat one of the existing Titans, they will take their place as a member of the elite Titan group. Once one becomes a Titan, they will need to be victorious every week to remain at the top. The season finale will end with an epic battle where the Titans compete against one another in hopes to become the last male and female standing.

It still doesn't really tell you what it is... what do you need to do in the Arena? Is it an obstacle course? A series of exercises? Gladiatorial combat? (I so hope it's this one). Speed licking?

Here is Dwayno havin' an ol chat and not really saying a lot:
So, regardless... I'm going to apply.
Titan Games Application Process.
First, hit up the Titan Games Casting website.
Application deadline is the 14th of April 2018.
You need to fill out their submission form, add a photo and a 3 minute submission video.
It's the exact same process as American Ninja Warrior, which makes sense since it's the exact same production company.
Different to American Ninja Warrior.... but identical to Ultimate Beast Master is a separate Fitness Test video:
• Core Test: Hold a Plank position (from your elbows) as long as you can hold
• Endurance Test: Jump rope 2 minutes
• Strength Test: Sets of Pull-ups to Push-ups five times:
▪5x pull-ups, 5x push-ups
▪4x pull-ups, 4x push-ups
▪3x pull-ups, 3x push-ups
▪2x pull-ups, 2x push-ups
▪1 pull-up, 1 push-up
So, now I've got that decision to make... do I enter in early so they can work with my application to get it exactly how they want it... or do I collect footage and train for it to make my application as amazing as possible?
I think I'm leaning towards earlier is best... but that means I've got a lot of work to do in the next couple of weeks.
I'm so super excited to have something to aim for before May! Go the Titan Games whatever you are!!! Go, ah, Aussie Titan!
