Productive day in DD. We were up earlier than usual, 'coz we had watering to do. The rain hadn't visited since Sunday, and with the scorching heat starting at 7 am, the plants get thirsty easily and had to be watered, or they would suffer dehydration๐
Thank goodness for sprinklers, although we had to replace the main pipe first. It didn't take long, and everything was set up and working well. And so instead of lazing around, we decided to continue with our long-delayed project (waste tank top cover). Just when we were about to cut two more steel bars, the power went out. Yikes!
To stay productive even without power, the hubby did some manual work, but he had to borrow a bending tool. One call, and he was informed the captain's neighbor had one, so off he rode the motorbike to get it. Me? I worked on the rebar tie wires, cutting and twisting them with Lineman's pliers. Easy peasy!
Power was eventually restored, so the cutting ensued. By mid-afternoon, the bars were laid out, and the husband immediately started securing them with tie wires while I continued with what I was working on.
Then someone came, asking if he could take a few buckets of the pre-mixed sand and gravel for a tramline platform post he was repairing. We didn't mind, since we had enough, so he helped himself with it, thankful he didn't need to go to the aggregates center. He also borrowed the leveling tool. He left after a chit-chat. We then thought it was time to call it a day, ecstatic that we had accomplished quite a lot already.
And it feels fulfilling to have done something worthwhile, instead of wasting the day scrolling endlessly (the hubby's guilty pleasure, lol), napping, or playing. We do thrive when we work together, and I like it!
