Today I learned about "head-cover" - applying pressure on baby skulls to shape their head shape.
Head-cover was part of previous cultures around the world, including Maya in South America, many cultures in Africa, and even a certain region in France until the mid-20th century. The molded skulls were considered attractive, forming a status symbol.
In the photo: skulls from the Paracas tribe in the Andes.
