Well actually this post is sort of a rant on how the younger people really do not follow the rules. Whenever we go to the supermarkets, banks and most establishments they have priority lanes for the Senior Citizens , PWD and pregnant women. I am not yet a senior citizen but I have problems walking for a long time or standing. In use a cane. So if there is room on these lanes to sit, I usually do but I also try to make room for the elderly. Sometimes I would stand with my cane if there are other elderly coming.

A few months ago at a supermarket, I went to the Senior citizen lane because I know there are 2 benches for the elderly. My knee was hurting and I have DVT (deep vein thrombosis) so I needed to sit, even for just a few minutes. Wow, when I arrived there this is what I saw.
I thought he was going to stand to let me sit. I knew the other 2 elderly women were in the right place. Oh but I was wrong. This was what happened. And on the other side, the young woman pretended to be sleeping. Actually the older man wanted to give me his seat but I said it was ok. The 2 young, healthy and able person was just "deadma" or pretending not to notice. Actually beside the "sleeping woman was another young lady looking away and pretending to check her cellphone.
I had to wait till the 2 older women's turn to pay and the man was their companion! Just because they are your companion does not mean you can sit there and let the PWD stand.

Ahh the young. I guess some young people have no respect for their elders. This also happened recently a young guy became too ambitious, proud (mayabang) and pretended to be a know-it-all. So when the elders or those senior to him made a move, he left and started sating bad things about the older matured people, saying we were in the wrong. Well Karma always goes around checking, LOL. Just because you can't have what you want, you do not respect the others. He was respected until he showed signs of disrespect. Just saying.

The yesterday I went to the city for my regular monthly schedule for groceries and buying my mom's and mine maintenance medicines. I just usually go to SM City in Iloilo for all that. Then before going home we stopped bu at S&R warehouse. I buy eggs there because it is cheaper and my Bagels. When I went to the senior citizen and PWD area...hmmm here is what I saw again and they all were "deadma" even when I was standing using my cane. The cashier tried to let me sit and the older man at the end was the one who stood up. Ahay what is it with these young people???
Those chair has a name on the back rest like these in the other picture which was taken when I went with my Mom. They had wheelchairs to borrow which I did for my Mom.
Ok so now I feel calm. Just hope that the young ones will realize that someday they will be the old ones.
