The 67th NBA All-Star concluded with Team LeBron victorious against Team Stephen. Final score is 148-145. This game was decided up to the last minute. Team LeBron was trailing by a point before LeBron James made the go-ahead layup from Kyrie Irving’s dime. Team Stephen turned the ball over the next ball possession and LeBron throw a long pass for a Russell Westbrook layup to extend the lead to 3 points. Team Stephen had a chance to tie the ball game and force it to overtime, but the swarming defense from Team LeBron dominated to seal the victory as the buzzer sounded.
LeBron James led all scorers with 29 points and ended up with a near triple-double performance, he added 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Kevin Durant finished with 19 points, while Paul George added 16 points.
DeMar DeRozan and Damian Lillard had 21 points apiece for Team Stephen. Stephen Curry didn’t played well with only 11 points and James Harden with 12 points in a poor shooting night.
MVP
LeBron James stood above all the All-Stars and took the All-Star Game Most Valuable Player award, his third in his career.
GAME BREAKDOWN
The new format in this All-Star game works well. The game gets more exciting and more competitive. There are less uncontested dunks and there are lots of blown whistles that show that players are really playing defense. Defense wins the game and it shows with the result of this game. This is the best All-Star game I’ve ever watched. I’m looking forward for this same format next year.
