Good evening Steemians! I’m back with my second post of the day. I came to know from a video that I watched that this fruit is very nutritious, I am talking about the fruit in the picture, the tamarind fruit. I am not sure if you have this kind of fruit in your country but here in the Philippines it is very common. You can eat it raw and of course you can it ripe, but I prefer the ripe ones. Raw tamarind is sour and it is popular in cooking sinigang (Filipino dish) because of its taste. Ripe tamarind is usually less sour with a bit of sweetness. I saw that there’s a tamarind for sale in our school canteen last week and I bought four packs. I didn’t eat it all that day because it might bad also if I will eat a lot of it, so I reserved something for the next day. When I went to the canteen today to take my lunch there’s a tamarind again and I bought 4 packs. It cost only 5 pesos per pack but I got 5 packs instead of four because there’s a buy 4+1 offer, it’s very affordable.
Tamarind contains antioxidants, flavanoids and vitamin A & C, that help fight against the development of free radicals. Tamarind soothes skin irritation and inflammation. It also lightens the skin and lessens dark spots and pigmentation. This fruit also helps in losing weight and may cure sore throat. It can combat cancer too because of its high content of antioxidants.
I was trying to be creative and made this Steemit logo out of tamarind. (^_-)-☆
