Steemit is showing a lot of potential for a long time now, especially lately when the prices went up very high. The popularity is simply skyrocketing. This year we are probably going to see huge numbers in terms of new registrations and user activity.
Steemit's global rank is at 1,436 right now as Alexa shows here:
The global rank is rising really quickly and there's no way anything will stop it!
So, if you joined only recently, you might think that you actually joined in too late, because there are a lot of amazing authors already posting every day and you have no chance to be seen.
Well, that is incorrect! This is the perfect time to be here on Steemit. Although the competition is already quite high, you can still earn great rewards if you put out great content and constantly engage with the community.
See, the biggest reason why a lot of great content is left unseen here, is because people post something and then leave it, with the hopes of making big rewards.
Posting an article is not enough. You have to be active, you must help the community grow like everyone else does.
Participate in chats, contests and comment on other author's posts. If you're constantly active, you WILL get seen and get the rewards you deserve.
Another advice I have for you, don't think about the rewards. Most people already stay quite active on other social medias without expecting to get anything, right?
Have the same mentality here. It's a social media, so you should focus on communicating and having fun. Rewards will follow along as you do that.
We are still the "early birds"
Now, the reason you should be happy to be on Steemit right now, is because the competition is only going to increase in the future.
Steemit will become very mainstream soon and this is the perfect time to make a name for yourself. It's easier to get your content seen now than it will be in the future.
You haven't missed out on nothing. The prices are high and the rewards are great. So start putting out your best content, engage and have fun, because the competition is nowhere near that it will be in the future.
Also, steem price is still not very high, so it's easier to accumulate some steem power now. If the prices going to increase, it will be harder to get steem power.
Just think about that... If you tell yourself that it's hard to get steem power now, then how hard it will be for you in the future?
Just look at the potential earnings
Some people manage to make thousands of dollars every day with their posts here on STEEMIT.
Let's just take a look at the trending page and do a few calculations. Not everyone still realizes that the $ amount shown on posts is not the real amount in USD.
At the current prices of Steem and SBD, the posts are actually worth way more than being shown, because the $ mark has nothing to do with USD. I suggest checking out this post made by
He explains it very well how the rewards are calculated.
So, now let's go to the trending page and see some examples.
Here's a post that that shows $1,130 in rewards.
While getting over 1000$ for a post is huge already, this post is actually worth a bit more at the current prices.
Keep in mind that 25% of the reward will go to curators. So roughly, the whole payout will be $850.
Now, the final payout is divided like this: 50% STEEM POWER and 50% SBD.
The author will get 425 SBD and 82 STEEM POWER.
Since 1 SBD is worth roughly 6,60$ right now, the author will have 2805$ just from SBD!
And he will get 425$ worth of STEEM POWER (which is 82 SP).
That's crazy, right? And this is not even the highest earning post. There are authors making even more than that.
That doesn't mean you will earn crazy amounts like that
You have to realize that those authors did a lot of work to get on the trending page.
A lot of them invested and bought a lot of STEEM POWER, which helps them get up there.
If you don't invest in SP, don't lose your hopes. You can easily get great rewards if you're very active and post frequently.
Your main focus shouldn't be getting out there on the trending page. It's mostly for the "big guys" of Steemit.
It's definitely possible even for new members to earn hundreds of $, but it's all up to you.
If you never take any kind of action, you won't succeed at anything. If you keep giving yourself excuses that everyone is better than you, then everyone WILL be better than you.
I guess I'm getting a little bit motivational, haha!
The future of Steemit and the prices
Not so long ago Steem and SBD prices were roughly 1$ for each. But lately we have seen some great growth! Here are the current prices:
As you can see, the prices are falling down a bit, but there's nothing to worry about at all. For most of my time that I have been here, whenever the prices go down, new users start to panic and leave Steemit.
But every time, steem has recovered and reached new highs!
That's the way cryptocurrencies are... They will always go down, but they will come back up. It happens all the time.
But the biggest mistake to do, is to sell all your cryptos when the price drops. I know, it's kinda stressful to look at the prices and see the value going down a lot.
It makes you wonder if you made the right choice and you start selling everything, because you don't want to lose even more money.
I advice not to look at the prices at all. Or look at the out of curiosity, but don't stress about it. Just hold your cryptos, because the future is bright for most of them (especially steem).
I have made the mistake of selling some of my cryptos when I started buying them. I saw the prices drop and I sold everything.
Only later I realized I made some big mistakes, because I sold them for 10 times less than they are worth now.
Don't make the same mistakes I made. Don't sell, because the prices go down.
You should actually BUY when the prices go down, cuz it's almost like getting something for a discounted price.
Most investors buy cryptos when the charts are all red.
So, be happy to be on steemit!
With all that's going on right now, you should be really happy you're on steemit. Like I've said, steemit will be mainstream pretty soon and you are here early.
Take advantage of being the early bird and start making a name for yourself. Show everyone that you can provide value, engage, communicate and while you're doing that, have some fun, okay?
If you're not having fun here, you might become lazy, without any motivation to do anything at all.
I have never been on a social media this good and I am not planning to leave it any time soon! Are you going to stay here and contribute towards making Steemit grow?
If you are going to do that, some tasty rewards will follow along that, for sure!
