Pacos de Ferreira - Tottenham Hotspur lost to Pacos de Ferreira in the play offs of the Europa Conference League. Even so, Nuno Espirito Santo is not worried about this result.
Tottenham were defeated when they visited Pacos de Ferreira's headquarters, Estadio Capital de Movel in the first leg of the Europa Conference League play-off, Friday (20/8/2021). Spurs fell 0-1 due to a single goal from Lucas Silva in the 45th minute.
In this match, the Tottenham manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, fielded many second-tier players. There were no names Son Heung-Min and Hugo Lloris in the starters, as well as Harry Kane who did not play again.
Appearing with a second-tier squad, Tottenham struggled to develop the game throughout the 90 minutes. They only made one shoot on target from two attempted shots.
This defeat made Tottenham obliged to win in the second leg in order to advance to the main round. The second leg will take place on 27 August at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Nuno did not deny that the defeat to Pacos was clearly a disappointing result. However, the man from Portugal from Portugal is not too worried.
He believes his team will soon rise. The Lilywhites have now immediately shifted their focus to their next match, which is to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League this week, Sunday (22/8/2021).
"Of course this is very impactful. No one likes to lose or not play well. There are good things that are missing," said Nuno quoted from the Independent.
"This is football. There have been ups and downs but they have to bounce back. This is what we are going to do."
"We will work tomorrow to prepare for the next game. The good part of football is that it gives you an opportunity right away and we have a chance on Sunday," he explained.
