As the river plays an important role in all aspects of human life, so is the importance of the development of tourism industry. Tourism industry is closely related to rivers and water throughout the world. Currently there are new tourism developments such as ecotourism, river based tourism, adventure tourism etc.
Prior to the development of wetlands, the efficiency and maintenance of the wetlands were not given importance. But in the evolution of time, the development of tourism development which has been promoted in different countries, rivers, seas, haors and other wetlands play an important role.
Bangladesh is a riverine and wetland country like Tanghua haor and Hakaluki haor (both Ramsar sites), Baixaar Bill etc. The water of this haor is calm and smooth and its arrows are surrounded green. Here travelers come to see water and taste fresh fish. Some tour operators offer naval offers. Many foreign tourists have expressed Tanghua haor as a special experience of their life.
Bangladesh is famous for its hundreds of spiral rivers and canals worldwide. This is for more famous naval ships. In Bangladesh there are famous rivers like Padma, Meghna, Jamuna, Kushiara etc. The 49th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Conference was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2003. Several different national MPs, Hon'ble Minister and High Level Officers were present in the conference. Bangladesh organized the Dhaka-to-Chandpur Navybahar for these honored guests. They enjoyed this boat ride and they had a great feeling. In the Navy, I participated as a host officer with Amatirbarga.
Water, haor and wetlands can reveal a great potential for Bangladesh's tourism development. As river has thousands of villages and local markets have developed, navalhip is very popular here. Tourists can observe horizontal grains of river banks. They could see local people working on the field. Moreover, the Hilsha fishing scene is a major attraction to tourists.
