Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite all considered themselves the most beautiful and rushed to claim the apple. Eris had succeeded in stirring chaos. Zeus then tasked Hermes with taking the goddesses to Mount Ida, where they would ask Paris, the son of the King of Troy, to choose the most beautiful among them and give her the apple. Paris awarded the apple to Aphrodite, tempted by her promise that he would win the love of the most beautiful woman in the world.
While Zeus was waiting for the arrival of the world’s most beautiful woman, the seeds of the Trojan War had already been sown because of Aphrodite's promise. And so, this region became the host of the world’s first beauty contest and earned its place in history as the site where the first war for beauty began.
