's post [Tach Event] - Geceye Bir Şiir Bırak!
Bu şehirde yağmur altında dolaşılır
Limandaki mavnalara bakıp
Şarkılar mırıldanılır geceleri.
Bu şehrin sokakları çoktur,
Binlerce insan gelir gider sokaklarında..
Her akşam çayımı getiren
Ve bir Beyaz Rus olmasına rağmen
Hoşuma giden garson kadın bu şehirdedir.
Bu şehirdedir
Valsler, foksrotlar altında
Suman'dan, Bramsdan
Parçalar çaldığı zaman donup
Bana bakan ihtiyar piyanist.
Doğduğum köye müşteri taşıyan
Şirket vapurları bu şehirdedir.
Hatıralarım bu şehirdedir.
Sevdiklerim,
Ölmüşlerimin mezarları.
Bu şehirdedir işim gücüm,
Ekmek param.
Fakat bütün bunlara mukabil
Yine budur başka bir şehirdeki
Bir kadın yüzünden
Bıraktığım şehir.
Who and Why Orhan Veli
Orhan Veli is the one of most succesfull poet in Turkey. Not only with his poems. He started new movement in Turkish poetry called ''Garip Akımı.''His poems become very revolutionary. Starting new movement is very big deal. Many of people tryed to do that but they failed. But Orhan Veli and his friends become succesfull. Now, their poems are in Turkish scholls. They are teaching his life and poems. You can't see people that do not know Orhan Veli in Turkey. He is become immortal. I think this is the most important thing in our lives.
In this event for Orhan Veli, I wanted to share his poem "Leave This City". I also used Çanakkale's photograph for poetry. Orhan Veli telling us how difficult is leaving a city that you really loved. I felt like this last summer when I graduated from my university and had to leave the city. I did not understand the value of it during my student days. But after I left, I felt like i'm really in love to this city. In our relationship, we realise the value of the person we love after she/he leaved. Here is Çanakkale, the beloved one that is noticed its value when it goes...
