Sometime in September or the first week of October 2017, I lost most of my savings that I worked hard on. I had invested what little money I had into cryptocurrencies and even though there were times I made some bad trades, there were also times when I was able to earn some. So by experiencing those ups and downs in trading, I was able to raise my funds before the unexpected hack got them stolen from me.
Of course, it left me quite depressed but there were people in the Steemit community that were able to cheer me on and give me the hope of trying again. Another reason was my daughter. I can't afford to just sit by and do nothing, I want to improve the quality of life for her and my family and in order to do that I couldn't just sit back and keep mulling over what is lost. Some people donated some funds in order for me to get back and ease things a bit and to them, I am very thankful. I used those funds to reinvest into Steem and powered up my account.
After that, I didn't trade for a while because, to be honest, I didn't really have any extra cash to spare on trading due to a lot of expenses that I had to take care of. Now that the holiday season has ended and things are slowly starting to settle down a bit...I am still in a lot of debt but I was able to save up some funds to begin trading cryptocurrencies again and I think I am a bit wiser now when it comes to the security of my accounts.
I have set up a 2-factor authentication on all my accounts that I have on the different exchange websites like Poloniex, Bittrex, and Cryptopia. I have also made sure to keep the passwords for each and every one of those accounts completely different from the other accounts for usage on the web that I might have. Their emails might be the same but I can't change them right now and hopefully, in the future, I will try to keep a different email for each of them as well in order to prevent the same thing from happening again.
Anyways going back to having saved up some funds, actually I was going to wait a bit longer but I think now is a better time to get back into the game with a fresh start. I don't have much to invest and I know it will take me a long time to get back to where I was before but with the 50 dollars that I have bought bitcoin from coins.ph through 7-eleven here in the Philippines, I am going to try and do something good. There is still a lot I don't understand about reading the charts and I know I will end up following my gut again. I know I will lose some and gain on others but I am going to try my best to once again get back on my feet.
If you guys have any advice on what cryptocurrencies to look into please do share and let me know why you think it would be a good one to invest in. I am going to try keeping a trading journal here on Steemit as soon as I have started my trading activities. I hope that this year will be a good one for me when it comes to trading.
Thank you for reading. Much love! <3
