Lets be honest, this entire industry is risky. If EOS is a scam then I don't understand why Dan Larimer would put his personal brand on the company. Many of the scammers are getting arrested all around the world right now for running away with people's money.
There is risk in what ever you do, you just have to decide whether the reward is greater and hence worth the risk. The chances of someone who has had 2 previous successful companies and a very public figure to the FBI etc is not going to decide that the 3rd companies is going to be scam are extremely low. He would realise that his chances of getting away with it are pretty slim to none.
There is a much greater chance that a historically successful entrepreneur is going to create another great company. Don't fool yourself thinking that another company, which could be their first ICO and blockchain project, with better terms and conditions is a safer bet. If someone is going to screw you they are going to make an effort to make the investment look as water tight as possible.
I have bought EOS but I don't want you to buy. I want to price to be as low as possible so I can carry on accumulating for longer.
