Mahek Presents - Time to rethink about Transgender
This Blog is dedicated to a young Budding Director in her teens, Miss Mahek Ratnesh Mishra ( Bobby), age 19 yrs.
She has done here HSC and pursuing her Bachelors of Mass Media. Imensly talented like her Father Ratnesh Mishra a renowned international Tabla player from Banaras Gharana , India.
I am sharing this short video created and directed by Mahek.
In her initial filming career She has tried to touch a very sensitive subject " TRANSGENDER". Sensitive in a sense, because many countries including India considers the Transgenders as a taboo to societies , they are not accepted as normal humans in main stream of life following discrimination and hardships they have to always face :
- They are not accepted as normal child in schools.
- Parents feel ashamed of their child.
- All though these child dont have control on this situations if their , they are always blamed for it.
- Society makes fun they are a subject for making fun at schools, functions , work places ( if they do get a job).
- They are not accepted as normal workers.
- They are looked upon with mean sights.
- Apart from these , especially in India this community is forced to take up Begging as their bread earnings.

This Short Film is a small try to bring up a change in society of giving importance to humanity and not to gender...
In the short film a Man shown to be very happy and excited about having a child.Once the child is born he founds it to be a Transgender,and then the journey from hating his child to loving him and feeling proud about him is expressed.It also initiates a step towards "Being Equal". A short story trying to enhance "Sochh (thinking)".
The short film comprises a reality check and a transformation of being Real Human
Mahek has touched this sensitive issue in a very light and convincing manner. Though filming experts may of the opinion of poor artwork , but as a layman with no technical knowledge about filming the story has touched my heart and i am sure many of you may respond in same manner.
