I was in Bangalore last summer, I was just touring around with my friends, and then I saw on google that they have amazing artifacts like Nandi Hills which was 1300 years old, it was hard to believe that such amazing places do exist. I called up my friends and asked them to tag along with me for this trip, I was really excited and overjoyed to see such an artifact.
It is an ancient hill fortress in southern India, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from the city of Bengaluru. The hills are nestled near the town of Nandi. In traditional belief, the hills are the origin of the Arkavathy River.
There are numerous stories about the starting point of the name Nandi Slopes. Amid the Chola period, Nandi Slopes was called Ananda Giri meaning The Slope of Joy Another story is that Yoga Nandeeshwara performed retribution here, thus it was named after him. Nandi is additionally regularly called Nandidurga (Fortification) due to the post worked here by the ruler Tippu Sultan.
Its a great place for relaxation, and meditation. So I hope people do visit it atleast once in thier life.
Here are few Photos from the trip. Let me know if you have any questions about the great Nandi Hills. I hope you guys like it.
