Tenerife In 9 Vlogs
A SHORT TRIP TO PARADISE
Greetings people of Hive and happy Sunday. I hope your days are going according to plan. Thankfully the lockdown is starting to lift for most of us, and people are now slowly returning to work and doing what they love. The past couple of months have been pretty tough, especially for those of us that like to not only be outdoors, but actually travel internationally.
I have been spending time looking at old photos and videos of my favourite destinations and Tenerife is one of the places I’ve been shortlisting to visit once the boarders reopen. All the destinations in my head are in that general part of the Atlantic Ocean - Senegal, Gambia, Cape Verde and the Canary Islands.
I can’t believe it’s been four years since I visited Tenerife! It seems only like yesterday. These are a collection of 9 videos I made on my phone that captured my short trip perfectly. I did do some things that I didn’t record, but you can get the general essence of the trip from these 9 vlogs.
1. Leaving London
I went in January, so it was freezing cold and miserable in London so I was delighted to go somewhere warm.
2. The hotel
I couldn't have stayed at a better hotel. It was picturesque, in a perfect location and affordable. It was low season as well, so I had a lot of space to myself.
3. A walk to the harbour
On my walk to through the town to the harbour, I stopped to appreciate the views, and the fact that I had created an online business that was relatively passive, which allowed me to travel when I wanted.
4. Dolphins, whales and passive income
I went on a boat trip to admire the marine life. I could see on my phone when I made a sale on Amazon, and the sales were pouring in. It was a pretty good business back then before it got saturated by Chinese companies selling directly. Coincidentally, and talking about marine life, the Steem blockchain was just about to launch. If only I had known about it at that very moment :)
5. Masca
The trip to the fabled pirate hideout of Masca was one of the highlights of my trip there.
6. Obama on the beach
I took a trip to a busy touristy beach called Playa de las Américas. I ate ice cream and saw Obama. It was Obama's final few weeks in office. I wonder if they replaced him with Trump.
7. Photography
It suddenly dawned on me, during breakfast with a view of paradise, that I hadn't explored and photographed the neighbourhood I was staying in.
8. Chilling out at the beach
It was my last full day on Tenerife so I decided to just take it easy and enjoy the day on the beach. I picked a lovely volcanic beach with black sand and got enraptured by the sound of the waves.
9. Returning to London
I wished to stay longer, but I had to get back to London to handle business. I vowed to return one day, especially since there were some adventures I left unexperienced on Tenerife. London was still the way I left it - cold and miserable in winter.
There you have it, I hope you enjoyed the nostalgic videos of my Tenerife trip. Like I said, I vowed to return. A few months ago, before COVID-19, I was even contemplating Tenerife as one of the places I was planning to move to. It was Option 2 on my list. You can click to have a read if you're interested in why I loved the place so much. That plan has probably been jeopardised by Brexit though.

Ok, that's me done for today. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday.
Peace & Love,
