I travel frequently with my two young children, a 6-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old boy. I usually travel to Florida two times a year, in the spring and fall. We have a lot of family there. What I want to discuss is the flight out.
I am preparing to leave soon for another trip to Florida. In packing for this trip I am looking at we truly need. As we have access to a washer and dryer. Some items I have to bring such as diapers for my son and our bathing suits. But we don’t need tones of clothes. Packing is always hard because you never know with kids how much or how little to bring.
For my daughter, I am letting her bring 2 play dresses, 1 nice dress, and 7 other outfits. For my son, I’m bringing around 8 outfits. This I am hoping will bring things down. Less for me to manage and make sure that it makes it way back home.
As for flying some airlines are more kid-friendly were others not so much. I fly Frontier and Southwest Airlines the most. They have the best prices and are very helpful when I’m flying with just the kids. American Airlines has been downright rude to me and not very helpful with my kids. I try not to fly with them if I can help it. I like Jet Blue as well but they don’t have direct flights for me. I prefer to fly non stop whenever I fly, it is less of a hassle. When my daughter was younger I took a couple of flights that had one stop. Let me just say it turned out really bad.
So for getting ready for a trip with kids: bring the essentials nothing more and find an airline that you enjoy flying without stops. I hope this helps you with your travel needs.
