Since my last couple of videos have been on the cryptic side in today's video I try to clear up some of the confusion by further explaining The Game, I talk about the current trip I'm on that started in Venice, Italy and has since progressed to Drubrovnik, Croatia. I also talk about tourist traps and how they relate to the economic phenomenon referred to as the "natural resource curse."
Economic Systems and Games
I never really finished my thought in the video on why it is relevant that Steemit is both a game and an economic system. From there I realized that economic systems are really just gaming frameworks that promote a certain kind of game called "trade." The better designed the framework the more "trade games" can be played and we call this "economic growth." Hence why the American Economic System beat the Soviet Economic System. These systems are more than just the monetary system and political system that reside within them but extend into the very psychology of the players. Why are they playing? How fun is the game? How much does the game unleash the player's imagination?
The Steem Game
If you believe as I do that Steemit and the Steem Backed Monetary System make up the best economic system in history due to its efficiency, its fairness, its low transaction costs, etc., then this begs the question: if economic frameworks enable games, and the better the economic framework the more games it enables, what new games will be created on it? I sought to demonstrate this point by discussing The Game, a game that is only now possible because of Steemit/Steem.
