Hello steemians, what traditional English/British food do you know?

Full English Breakfast,
Fish & Chips,
Bangers & Mush,
Steak & Kidney pie,
Shepherd's pie, Cottage pie,
Mushy peas,
Spotted Dick ... (what?)
...
I've heard before that the British take their pies very seriously - they love eating pies, they make everything into a pie dish, they have a famous pie-eating contest, etc. So this above shop instantly caught my eye as it looks and sounds incredibly British while I was strolling in the historical city of York.
Appleton's, Traditional Pork Butchers & Pie Makers.. wow..
The shop has lovely facades and a welcoming entrance, I was attracted to take a quick look to see what they were selling in there. It seemed very popular by the locals, and I could sense the great energy inside. They were selling Steak & Kidney Pies, Scotch Eggs... all these traditional British pies, just as I imagined!
Speaking of pies...
So after a pleasant day spent in the city as described in my previous post, we drove back to my friend's house in the countryside, where we sat in front of the fire and had a cup of tea (of course, tea, when you're in England).
We were a little peckish after the nice walk about, but it was still a little too early for dinner time. My friend poked her head out of the kitchen and asked me if I fancy a pork pie for a snack.
My friend: 'Would you like a pork pie?'
Me: 'A pork pie? What is a pork pie? I've never had it before...' (slightly anxious)
My friend: 'Pork pie is a traditional English meat pie. It's got some chopped pork and pork jelly inside the crust pastry. It is normally eaten cold. It's lovely, try some.'
Me: ............. erm..., no I'm alright, thanks.
As she was explaining, she was already taking a bite, I must say she looked delighted with the little piece of cold meat pie thing. I have to admit that it didn't give me a great deal of appetite when I heard a word of 'pork jelly inside' and 'eaten cold'... However, as a non-British I'm only guessing though, it is a comforting soul food for the Brits, let's say for example, it must be something equivalent of a 'Butaman' for the Japanese.. it must be!
In conclusion, I believe pork pie for the Brits is like butaman for the Japanese, both comforting and satisfying, that is perfect for a quick snack.
