I visited Cambodia on a week tour. Cambodia is traditional with rich culture and advance civilization. But up until 1980's the country was going through tough time with Rouge regime.
I visited one of their monument Choeung Ek, which used to be a killing field of the regime, where thousands of people massacred without hearing their voice to the out side world. A Must visit place to understand how human kind can be cruel, harsh and painful at points and show their animal behaviours to innocent people.
The Killing field of Cambodia where almost 25% per of the population, almost 2.5 million out of the 8 million were silently killed and buried by the Khmer Rouge regime during 1975 to 1979. The Khmer Rouge regime arrested and executed almost everyone suspected of connections with the former government or with foreign governments, as well as professionals and intellectuals
The memorial park at Choeung Ek has been built around the mass graves of many thousands of victims, most of whom were executed right here. There are almost 20,000 mass graves in Cambodia.
Hopefully, one day the international community get in to action and digging the mass graves of Mulliyavakaal and bringing the truth out to the world.
Killing Tree against which executioners beat children to death. They killed children of victims so that they will not revenge when they grown up. The whole families were killed.
Many dozens of mass graves are visible above ground, many which have not been excavated yet. There are estimated to be 20,000 mass graves in this country.
