I like train stations. I like them all. However, the trouble is where I am currently located, in the continental USA, they are far and few. Rail network in the US is not well developed, perhaps outside the eastern seaboard. Why? Well that is a completely different topic.
Several years back I was visiting Glacier National Park, Montana. I have been to the park many times and it is one of my favorite National Park to visit. While visiting the East Glacier Park area I came across this Amtrak train station of the same name. It serves the beautifully named train The Empire Builder. It is a daily service train that goes from Chicago to Seattle in 46 hours! Obviously it is not practical in modern times as it is a non-stop 4:15 hrs flight! So people will only travel this if they really want to slow down.
I don't know if I will ever take a train between Chicago and Seattle, but I sure want to. Someday!
The best part of the route is when it crosses the Rocky Mountain, through the Glacier National Park. It runs through these beautiful stations East Glacier, Essex, West Glacier, Whitefish.... and there is always a river runs through it...
