Was a wonderful escape from the homestead for two nights.. but had to get back quick on Sunday to make sure my green guys weren't all dead and dried in the blistering summer Sun. We kayaked a bunch, flew the birdcam, swam in the lake, and went on a casual walk.. besides just enjoying the nature scene and a change of pace.
My love,
, posing for a quick picture at one of the islands we kayaked to
This one we called, "blueberry island" because of all the natural blueberries there were growing! None were ripe yet but there were tons of green berries, and I mean tons of them on this tiny little island perhaps the size of .25 acres.
The lodge we stayed in
Duck farmers own this property, and thus this lodge is decorated to the tee with loads of "duck" memorabilia... from paintings to glassware and silverware and every decorative item in between.. duck.
Blue waters backdrop dark brown tree trunks and green ferns.
Endless forest wraps the lake
First glimpse at the lake in 6 months.
has never been to Lake Naomi before this weekend
We got right out onto the water
Place was loaded with sea faring people
Just lounging
Full moon for us to enjoy getting eaten alive by mosquito
Mother lounging out in the shallows
Water stayed relatively shallow until ya get much further out into the water.
Selfie time
Boy am I ugly
* An absolute babe*
Closeup in the water
At Lake Naomi dam
It must have been 100 degrees in the Sun
Water was very glassy that day
The humidity did not allow us to stay for long!
Till next time, Lake Naomi!
I always feel very fortunate to be able to experience the things in life that I do. I pray every day to Heavenly Father for the health and safety of all.
Happy Independence day, America!
