Built in Lisbon by the German Johann Heinrich Hulenkampf (Joao Fernandes Hulencampo), disciple of Schnitger living in Portugal since 1701 [4]. The instrument was decorated with chinoiserie paintings in 1751 by an artist of Tavira, Francisco Correia da Silva. A twin organ to that of the Se of Faro was sent to the Cathedral of Mariana, in colonial Brazil, by order of D. João V, around 1750.
