Although I am relatively well traveled within Europe (having visited spain, sweden, belgium, the netherlands, luxembourg, france and the united kingdom) I have never left the continent. That will change however, as i am travelling to China for a month.
Getting Ready
My preparationsfor my holiday began when I had my typhoid and hepatitus A vaccinations. I also bought some OSR medication. These are salts/minerals to be mixed with water in case of any "upset stomachs" (shall we say).
My next course of action was to buy gifts for people I will be staying with. They mainly consisted of alcohol for men and soap for the women as well as chocolate. I had heard that the chocolate in China was of poor quality and oily. As i was to find out later, milk chocolate is preferred over dark chocolate.
I flew from Amsterdam airport to Moscow followed by a flight from Moscow to Guangzhou.
My flight to Moscow was delayed by half an hour . After having flown for 14 hours, I arrived in Guangzhou.
Holiday Problems
My luggage however, had stayed behind in Moscow. Luckily, I had purchased travel insurance and giving me a small sum to buy necessary items such as clothes and hygeine products.
Hopefully my suitcase will arrive tomorrow.
