Two thousand years ago the city centre of my home town was home to Mayan ruins, in in the 14 hundreds my ancestors came and wreaked havoc on the Mayans (which I an ashamed of) and built their homes and the city we know today. This first picture is the door to the home of Montejo who founded the city
And here is another entryway
His home is now a museum and its free to go in and look. There is a street that is a few miles long right outside the city centre which is called Paseo de Montejo, there are mansions all up and down the street which are fashioned out of Paris streets
Here are a couple mansions on that street That one is my favorite here is another one
The downtown area has homes with doors that are over a thousand years old
When you get inside it looks like this they have a courtyard and the rooms surround the courtyard
This theatre is free to the public and it has symphonies, plays, concerts I grew up coming here
There is alot of history and culture to my city of you ever go to Mexico try to go to Merida you will not be disappointed. Thank you for taking this walk down history lane with me, have a beautiful Sunday and a great Monday! Peace and love
