Thailand, officially the Kingdom of Thailand, previously known as Siam, is a country in Southeast Asia, bordering Cambodia to the east, the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia to the south, and Marea Andaman and Myanmar to the west. The state capital is Bangkok. The word Thai (ไทย) means „free” in the Thai language. Thailand is called the Land of Smiles quite simply because of the smiles you see on everybody’s faces.
