Hello Everybody. These are some pics that I took on my trip to Banaue in the Philippines. Banaue is where my mother grew up so I have quite a bit of relatives here. I stayed with them for a few nights before I came back to Baguio. Banaue is predominantly a farming town that is nestled in the northern mountain region of Luzon Island. They get most of their money from the Export of rice and tourism.
It was a pretty good hike to get to the top of the mountain
At the top of the mountain we found a small waterfall
It was Hot so I Decided to cool down in the water for a little while.
My mothers relatives were pounding rice in this wooden contraption to remove the rice from its husk. It's basically an old school milling process that they still use today
This is a mural inside the inn that I was staying at. I was a bit upset that my pictures of the hut weren't saved because I wanted to show you what my mom lived in for the first 16 years of her life. If you look at the mural that hut on the left was pretty much what it looked like except it was on stilts about 6 feet off of the ground and it had round disks on each of the Stilts to prevent Snakes from climbing into the hut.
