Hi Friends!
I am here in Palm Springs, CA basking in the sunshine! I just spent a few hours laying by the pool and thought i'd film a video for you guys before heading out for some afternoon adventures. It feels so good to finally see the sun after a long Washington winter. I know you guys are going to be amazed at how tan I already look. haha
What??
has a second account?
Yep! I created an account () specifically for posting photos of my life to Steepshot.
I think Steepshot has Enormous Potential to Attract New Users to the Platform
Think about it... how many people do you know that currently create content such as blogs and vlogs? Now think of how many people post photos on Instagram. It's a huge difference! I think there is a lot of grace in this community for people to learn how to post quality vlogs and blogs...but not everyone wants to. Some people would much prefer posting photos with a shorter caption.
Even my sister has a Dtube channel and sometimes finds making the time to create quality video content a challenge. When I showed her Steepshot... she was thrilled! Especially now that they have a slick new app out. This way, she can still make Dtube videos as she has time, but can post more regularly by using Steepshot in between her videos.
Why I Decided to Run Two Different Accounts
For me, it was about freedom. I loved the idea of supporting Steepshot and getting to share little moments from my day. Sometimes I'll post three or four times a day! I wanted to be able to post whenever I wanted, without worrying about overloading my page.
I also have a few people who set me up for auto-vote. I decided that I wanted those people to be able to look at any post I publish on and feel like it was a good use of their vote. That is why I decided early on - to only post long form blogs or quality videos on my page.
The problem is...I really wanted to engage with the platform on a more casual, low key basis. I loved the idea of using Steepshot to share fun moments from my day.
My 30 Day Steepshot Challenge
If you look at , you will notice that I go in waives of posting. Sometimes I am really consistent and sometimes I go weeks without posting. Part of it is just routine. I am not a huge instagram user to start with, and so i'm not really used to thinking about taking photos and posting them. To help get me into the rhythm - I am challenging myself to post at least 1 photo every day for the next month!
I figured there was no better time to start than when I was on vacation! I'm going to have so many great photo moments while I'm here.
Want to join me??
Use the tag #steepshotchallenge and let's have some fun!
Want to follow along with my vacation adventures?
I know this sounds like a shameless plug... but if you follow you'll see all sorts of fun photos from my trip. You'll also see a little more "unplugged" style. Oh, and lots more emojis.
Thanks so much for watching my vacation vlog! I am excited to film a couple more videos for you guys while I'm here! Who knows... maybe tomorrow’s backdrop will be poolside.
Have a GREAT Friday everyone!
xo, Lea
