One hot summer day, a turn came to a trip to the highest mountain of the island of Menorca, so we went there with great pleasure.
In general, Menorca is rather flat, if you do not take into account the high rocks sticking out from under the water, which form the island itself. But geographers will find and mark the highest point in every locality. In Menorca this is Monte Toro (or El Toro in Catalan).
The mountain rises only 342 meters above the ground, but this is enough to see almost the entire island from a bird's flight altitude.
Our trip to Monte Toro was not long, but I managed to take pictures of all the important and beautiful things and even drink coffee. The thing is that at that time our friends came to us, so we could not stay in one place for too long: we were eager to show the maximum amount of the natural splendor of Menorca.
The road to Monte Toro is a bit winding and very green. The photos, in truth, were made in the summer, but even now the greenery has not turned into yellowness.
Over there on the horizon the sea and the northern coast of the island with beaches of orange and yellow colors are visible.
The beauty of nature plus the beauty of human tricks - that's how we sometimes have fun in our small travels. After sitting in the car, warm-up is always beneficial to our bodies!
It is noticeable that Menorca is not particularly overpopulated. The photo clearly shows a white house in the middle of a huge field and there are many trees around. In such estates, cattle are often kept and people produce cheeses for sale, as they are one of the traditional dishes and are valued a lot.
Here, on the mountain there are several towers with antennas, the phone has connection everywhere without any problems.
If you pay this binocular 1 euro, you'll see even the leaves on the trees or you can peek at the windows.
In addition to the observation deck, there is also a statue of Jesus on Monte Toro, as well as a church with a pretty courtyard. Here some couples come to get married. To be honest, every summer a lot of couples choose Menorca as a place to marry, so the marriage agencies here do not sit without job.
Oh, yes, there's a shop with souvenirs as well (no way without them!) and a small restaurant where you can drink coffee for 1.5 euros, enjoying the stunning view.
Thanks for reading and see you in my next adventures!
