Well Steemit friends, a few days ago I mentioned that this trip to Iceland was extra special and now you know why. I got married! We spent 12 days exploring the whole country (we never went to the north on the other two trips). Just myself, Kylene, and the awesome photographer Joleen Willis.
^^^Taken on a ridge of Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. I must admit, this one was a bit harrowing. The ridge was around 3 feet wide or so... and about 250 feet high.
Kylene and I have been together for nearly 8 years. We got engaged in Iceland in February of last year inside an ice cave of the Vatnajökull Glacier... it only seemed fitting to finished the process there as well! Basically, the entire purpose of the trip was to get a lot of cool wedding photos. We eloped. In October, we're going to have a reception get-together for friends and family though.
^^^At Skogafoss waterfall. We had the whole thing to ourselves!
Some of the most amazing sights are super busy with tourists, naturally. This time of year, however, it never gets dark in the country. The old midnight sun. That being said we went to many of the locations between 3:00am and 6:00am, before the tour buses show up. We had some of the most popular locations to ourselves! Like Gullfoss, which is one of the busiest locations in the country, and we had it to ourselves for over an hour.
^^^On the basalt lava columns of Reynisfjara beach.
The ceremony was on July 7th in the little town of Seyðisfjörður on the eastern coast of the country. It was awesome. The district commissioner conducted the ceremony and it lasted around 90 seconds. Perfect!

We have a thing where we don't really like to go to the same place more than once because there's so much to see in the world.... but like I said, this was our third trip here. That should be a testament to how awesome Iceland is. Though the tourist amounts have sky rocketed since our first trip, but I people should really see it. The glaciers alone are should be seen before they disappear.
Anyway, I came back from Iceland a new man, literally. I'm a married man now! Everything feels the same, honestly, but that is awesome. We have a great relationship and neither one of us would want anything to change. We've always been buds, but now we've promised to be buds forever.
Thanks for reading about my wedding!
