Crape Myrtle are everywhere around Sarasota, Florida! Look at all of them blooming with beautiful flowers, coloring the city.
Lagerstroemia known as crape myrtle is a genus of around 50 species of trees and shrubs, cultivated in warmer climates around the world.The genus is named after the Swedish merchant Magnus von Lagerström, who supplied Carl Linnaeus with plants he collected.
Crape Myrtle blooms in the early summer. Seeing these trees makes me want to get one for my house. There are so many different colors of Crape Myrtle. Why have one? Make sure you find which one is perfect to grown in your area. People that live up north wall one to withstand the cold.
