Adelaide and its surroundings have numerous beaches, sand coastline stretches for kilometers. One of well-known shore oasis is an Aldinga Beach. Combine a crystal clear water, white sand and you will get popular tourist destination. What I love the most about this outer southern suburb of Adelaide are the hill slopes above the ocean.
Unlike other cliffs which are sharp and uninviting, you have miniature soft hills, which remind on sand dunes, and when they are illuminated by sun look gorgeous. In the autumn they have mustered like hue which is very hard to replicate in photos.
Yesterday was a public holiday (Anzac Day) in Australia, and the beach was full of people enjoying the beautiful mild weather. Where ever you looked, you could see surfers, swimmers, happy children and people with pets.
Aldinga has two protected areas, Sellicks Beach - specifically allocated to protect a natural monument and its surrounding habitats; and Aldinga Reef Aquatic Reserve which the main objective is protecting functioning ecosystems.
If you ever visit South Australia and Adelaide, Aldinga Beach is the destination worth seeing.
